Cell Dated November 14, 2012, only for the purposes of registration and investigation of the offences relating to Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988.

  • Presiding Officer of the Court of Judge, Bench-II, City Session court, Calcutta, is the Special Judge for trial of cases or group of cases under the under the Prevention of Corruption Act which are investigated into by the Anti Corruption Branch Police Station, having its jurisdiction throughout the West Bengal.

  • The police officers in the rank of Inspector of Police attached to the Anti Corruption Branch Police Station, West Bengal is authorized by the State Government to investigate offences under the said Act, in addition to Deputy Superintendent of Police or Police Officer of equivalent rank as required under the Act.

  • Bribe giver is also an offender under Prevention of Corruption Act like bribe taker public servants except the circumstances as provided in section 8 of Prevention of Corruption Act.
